Please brief your query?
ReplyDeleteWhen you say as seen above what are you referring to? Also I have no idea what block you mean unless it looks like a trash can. I'm so confused.

I want a browser to prevent anything from playing automatically. If I want a video to play, I'll be happy to click "play." Autoplay — of ads or content — is of the devil. When I go to a news site to read a story, I don't want related video playing while I'm trying to read.

AdBlock Plus is winner on PC but terrible on Android. Avoid it on Android. It randomly allows ad. And sometimes even though it is working ADs are not blocked AT ALL! And this is not one off. It has happened several times.

Sometimes the appearance of ads on different browsers means that computer is affected by adware-type program. Such program have been actively spread in a bundle with freeware. People who like downloading freeware or shareware without checking what is hiding inside it can easily end up with such ad-supported application. After it is installed on the system, it alters web browsers and starts causing ads on shopping and other sites.

I always think about with metered data plans, how auto playing ads/videos affect that. For instance, a cursory search of google says that the limit for flash and html5 is 150KB. A Verizon plan is roughly $15.00/GB so you are paying about two tenths of a cent to view the ad every time one of those stupid things shows up (if my pre-coffee math is correct!). I would like to see a study on normal browsing data usage vs. with an ad blocker over the course of a month and how much you are actually spending to view the ads. Except on Ars of course! Maybe I am out of my mind and it amounts to nothing. Edit: I should have prefaced that saying that I travel quite a bit for work and I'm tethered often. So this probably doesn't affect the majority of users out there who are only on mobile.
